How do you stay organized?

I usually don't attempt to get organized until I'm in a total state in distress. So I usually just stay un-organized until I really need to get my act together.
What are you saving up for?

If I could save money, I would be saving up for a move to California! or a vacation.
How far from your last home do you live? Why did you move and are you glad you did?

Mileage-wise: about 300 miles Time-wise: a 3 and 1/2 hour drive or 30 minute plane ride. I moved back to Miami because my mother has been sick and I came to help out. Right now, I'm not too glad that I did because I'm unhappy with my job and school situation here. I hopefully can overcome that this year with a new job!
No word on the job yet. Keeping my fingers crossed for a positive response today.
Since Dec. 20th, I've been getting up around 10-10:30 am, but tomorrow I go back to work and go back to waking up at 5:30 am - oh joy.
I interviewed for a position about two weeks ago that I really hope I get. I got a great impression from everyone at the interview and I should probably know by the end of this week (hopefully tomorrow). It's a little different from my current job and requires a lot of travel (instate, but at least I'm not sitting in an office all day -wohoo!!!). It pays a litte more, too. I really liked the attitude of everyone there and I even got a bit of wisdom on my current job search situation. One the program assistants asked me about my current job, we talked about what I do, and compared notes our two institutions, etc.
Then he said "but, you're not happy there, or else you wouldn't be here." Well, isn't that the simplified truth.
My boss knows that I'm looking for another position and I told her the reason is I don't make anything close to what I used to - which is absolutely true, I make about 10,000 less than what I made last year. She totally understood and is supportive. But, I'm also unhappy there as well. I haven't really bonded with anyone and the one person I did bond with quit 6 months ago. So this job has been pretty lonely and there are certain people that make me feel bad when they can.
My original plan was to go back to the classroom. I was a special education teacher for 5 years. I don't know if I'm ready to though. My last year of teaching was pretty traumatic and wasn't the kids, it was the admin. There are some things I definitely miss about teaching besides that glorious vacation time. I miss the creativity, always trying to come up with something new and exciting to entertain kids while they were learning. I miss the "wow' moments with the kids when they discover something for the first time. I was offered a teaching job a month ago, but it didn't work out. So I saw that as a sign that I should keep on looking.
I hope I will be able to get out of bed on time tomorrow and that I get some good news.
What are your rituals or traditions for starting off a new year?
I'm starting a new one - a new year's cleaning.
